
GUSDA Launches Youth Skills Empowerment Initiative with Hands United for Humanity
GUSDA partners with Hands United for Humanity to launch YSEI — a 12-month community-based workforce development programme supporting 40 underserved youths across six Guyanese communities.
The Guyana UK Social Development Association (GUSDA), in partnership with Hands United for Humanity (HUFH) in Guyana have embarked on Youth Skills Empowerment Initiative (YSEI) — a 12-month community based workforce development programme funded by GUSDA to support 40 underserved youths across Agricola, Buxton, Diamond/Grove, Plaisance, Parfaite Harmonie, Sophia, and surrounding communities.
The youths will be provided with vocational training, academic upgrading, mentorship, counselling, employability coaching and pathways into employment or entrepreneurship.
The YSEI will be officially launched in Georgetown, Guyana on Friday, 28th August 2026. GUSDA extends it thanks to its supporters, sponsors, donors and members for making this investment in the future of our youth possible.

The day featured traditional Guyanese food, cultural performances, a masquerade band and the GUSDA Diaspora Awards, with Guyana's High Commissioner Dr Rajendra Singh among the guests.

GUSDA Celebrates Diaspora Excellence at Annual Folk Festival Awards Ceremony
The 25 May Awards Ceremony at Norbury High School recognised outstanding contributions across the Guyanese diaspora, presented by Guyana High Commissioner Dr Rajendra Singh. Honourees included June Givanni, Sybil Phoenix MBE, Reverend Canon Emeritus Ivelaw Bowman, Guyana SPEAKS, Xavier Alexander and the Guyana (UK) Kwe Kwe Group.
