Terms of Use

GUSDA (the Guyana UK Social Development Association) is a registered charity in England and Wales (Registered Charity No. 1207355), based in London. This website is provided for the benefit of the UK-Guyanese community and the wider public.

You may use this website for personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to:

• Use the site in any way that breaches UK law or the rights of others.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or another user's account.
• Introduce viruses, malware or any other harmful code to the site.
• Scrape, copy or republish our content without our written permission.
• Use the site to send unsolicited or offensive communications.

Membership of GUSDA is open to anyone who supports our aims. There are four tiers: Community Member (free), Young Guyanese (£15/year), Community Patron (£50/year) and Founding Guardian (£150/year).

When you register, you agree to provide accurate and truthful information about yourself. We may suspend or terminate your membership if your conduct brings GUSDA into disrepute or breaches these terms.

Paid memberships are annual. You may cancel within 14 days of purchase for a full refund. After 14 days, memberships are non-refundable.

When you book an event ticket, you agree to the specific terms published on the event page. Unless stated otherwise:

• Tickets are non-transferable unless you notify us in advance.
• Tickets are refundable up to 48 hours before the event.
• Within 48 hours of the event, tickets are non-refundable.
• We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule events. In such cases, we will offer a full refund or a ticket for the rescheduled date.
• Free events may have capacity limits. Registration does not guarantee entry if the venue is full.

All prices are shown in pounds sterling (£) and include applicable VAT. We accept payment by card and other methods shown at checkout.

We aim to dispatch merchandise within 3–5 working days. If you are not satisfied with your purchase, you may return unworn, unwashed items in their original packaging within 28 days of delivery for a full refund. Gift cards are non-refundable.

Donations to GUSDA are gratefully received and directly support our community programmes. If you are a UK taxpayer and complete a Gift Aid declaration, we will claim an additional 25p for every £1 you donate at no extra cost to you. Donations are non-refundable except in cases of clear error, in which case please contact us within 30 days.

Submitting a volunteer application does not guarantee a placement. We review all applications and will contact you within 5 working days. Volunteers are expected to follow our Community Standards and Safeguarding Policy, which will be shared with you before your first shift.

Business directory listings are submitted by the business owner and reviewed by GUSDA before publication. We reserve the right to decline or remove any listing that is inaccurate, misleading, or does not meet our community standards. Listing a business does not imply endorsement by GUSDA.

All content on this website — including text, images, logos and design — is owned by GUSDA or used with permission. You may not reproduce, distribute or commercially exploit our content without our written consent. The GUSDA name and logo are trademarks of the association.

If you submit a community story, photo or other content to us, you grant GUSDA a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use that content on our website and in our communications. You confirm that you own the content or have permission to share it, and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights.

We make every effort to ensure the information on this website is accurate and up to date, but we do not warrant that it is complete or error-free. To the extent permitted by law, GUSDA accepts no liability for any loss or damage arising from your use of this website, except where caused by our negligence or breach of these terms.

We may update these terms from time to time. We will post any changes on this page and update the 'last updated' date. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
